Wai is a songbird-sized mutant, appearing mostly bat with some butterfly traits - antennae and coloured wings. Their torso is a light sandy brown, tipped with violet at their claws, tail, nose and antennae. They have paint-like violet markings around their eyes, which line their wide white eyes. All four of their limbs extend out to the wing membrane, which can be used to fly along with their tail as a rudder. The wings are a powdery lavender blue, dotted with eye-like markings of light and dark green. Their tongue is a long proboscis-like muscle and can be used to sip nectar and other liquids. - Bat Facts Zube

A street library, book swap or public bookcase that can currently be found in \Townsville, Australia. The name Pteropus Public Bookcase is to honour flying foxes, megabats who are in the genus Pteropus . They are a mammal native to the area in which the bookcase resides, an underloved yet important pollinator. They are intelligent, curious, gentle and social travellers. This street library is also a tribute to my mother, Catherine, who passed away from Leukaemia in 2024. She inspired in me a lifelong love of reading, and who was an avid reader herself.
