7. Formula Offroad – Akranes two days of racing!

   Exciting courses, a lot of struggle and fantastic driving characterized the Formula Offroad races held in Akranes over the weekend of July 21.-22. 2018. On Saturday the unbelievable happened when Ingólfur Guðvarðarson and Atli Jamil Ásgeirsson ended at the top and with the same exact number of points in the Unlimited category, 1650 points. This is also the first time Ingólfur gets gold in a Formula Offroad competition! Right on their heels came the newcomer Kristján Finnur Sæmundsson. Even more amazing was that the same happened in the Street legal category when Steingrímur Bjarnason and Ívar Guðmundsson ended up at the top and equal with 1500 points. On Sunday the first victory of Haukur Viðar Einarsson, who performed great all day in the Unlimited category was the first place winner. Geir Evert and Thor Thormar came shortly thereafter.     Formula Offroad is simply crazy and the first round of the Icelandic tournament shows the action is getting more extreme by each year. This time the race took place in Hella on the southern region of Iceland. The competition is hard at the top and the drivers are not shy creating an amazing show for the crowd. The six tracks each has their own set of challenges, the first three in the sandy creeks and then moving on to the timed track and then the river crossing – or should we say river skipping – and then finishing off crisscrossing the muddy swamp.     Working With Local 4×4 Clubs, The Clean Trail Program Helps To Protect Our Favorite Trails MALVERN, Pa. – ExtremeTerrain’s Clean Trail Initiative Program is ramping up and is looking to improve the trails near you. The Clean Trail Program was founded by ExtremeTerrain in 2015 and setup to fund trail improvement projects that can include anything from trail clean-up, trail restoration, trail expansion, and more.
