- Celebrating 1 Year of The Education Center
Sep 3, 2026 · original
In August, we celebrated one year since the grand opening of our 3,700 sq. ft. Education Center, a milestone for STEM education at Adventure Science Center. In that time, the Education Center has served over 8,000 learners , provided space for expanded program offerings, and set the stage to reach hundreds of thousands of students, teachers, and families over the next decade. The Education Center was built not only to improve program quality and increase capacity, but also to address resource gaps in STEM education across the region. One year in, the numbers showcase the impact of this investment. A Look at the Numbers 1,984 students participated in 83 labs, a 17% increase in students served, and a 24% increase in programs offered over the previous year. 1,104 campers served over the course of 71 camp days, including four weeks of our first-ever in-depth STEM camps built specifically for - Digging Deep: Spire and Tennessee 811 Help Bring Dino Dig to Life

Every visit to Adventure Science Center starts with a question: what will I discover today? Maybe you’ll conduct the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, mimic the physics of a tsunami, or journey through the solar system. Or maybe you’ll learn what it’s like to uncover buried fossils. Head into Fossil Frontiers , and you’ll find Dino Dig . Designed for our youngest explorers (but enjoyed by all), this interactive experience lets guests practice the techniques of real paleontologists. As guests carefully brush away sediment to reveal the fossils below, Dino Dig also emphasizes the importance of dig-site safety and the protection of underground utilities. Like paleontologists who study what's under the earth’s surface, homeowners and contractors need to know what's underground before they start digging. Spire and Tennessee 811 have teamed up to help us educate our guests, young and old, on why c - Adventure Science Center Celebrates Grand Reveal of Fossil Frontiers

Capital Maintenance and Improvements Grant will be used for enhanced operational safety measures Nashville, TN, October 21, 2025: Adventure Science Center is a recipient of a $26,762 grant for Capital Maintenance and Improvements from the State of Tennessee as administered through the Tennessee State Museum. The grant award will be used to replace a large steel door at the entrance of the center’s Exhibition Workshop, ensuring continued safe separation between behind the scenes operations and front of house STEM exploration. The Tennessee General Assembly made available $5 million in funding from the 2025-2026 Appropriations Act, “for the sole purpose of providing grants to museums with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or affiliated with a governmental entity for capital maintenance and improvements.” In the third year of the grant program, it remains a highly competitive process.
