At the President’s Forum on Artificial Intelligence, held on May 7, 2026, experts from various fields discussed the state of artificial intelligence (AI) in Slovenia and around the world, the potential for its implementation in the economy and other social systems, as well as legal, social, and ethical aspects and the lack of education about AI and computer science in general. The event was attended by many experts from the Faculty of Computer and Information Science . Important roles in the panel discussion were played by Prof. Dr. Danijel Skočaj, Prof. Dr. Blaž Zupan, Prof. Dr. Marko Robnik Šikonja, Assoc. This year’s President’s Forum on artificial intelligence is largely shaped by experts from FRI, building on 50 years of AI research in Slovenia. Experts, decision-makers, researchers, and business representatives gathered today at Brdo pri Kranju to learn about the current state of AI and the necessary steps for the successful implementation of the technology in practice. .
