Houston, Texas (August 28, 2024), After a year hiatus, the Ethiopian Cup of Excellence auction set another Cup of Excellence high mark. Angelino’s, a Los Angeles specialty coffee roaster placed the final bid of $445.00lb for # 1a breaking the 2022 record of $400.50lb. The auction lasted almost 9 hours and resulted in an average price of well over $24lb for all 29 lots. Mexico Closes Out Active 2024 Cup of Excellence® program for Central America

Houston, Texas (August 15, 2024), Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Mexico all have one thing in common. They have each successfully completed their 2024 Cup of Excellence (CoE) coffee competition and auction season. Over the course of the 6 auctions a whopping 21,661 bids were placed from buyers wanting to own one of the 192 winning lots. When the 3-minute clock struck zero at the end of the final auction over 2.6 million dollars had been raised. Out of the 706 registered bidders 128 were successful placing the highest bid to own a winning lot. Costa Rica garnered the highest gross auction amount of $655,786, almost $271,000 more than in 2023, although every country improved their totals from 2023. Honduras took home the top price of $136.50lb for its 1 st place coffee. Together the 192 total lots averaged $21.54lb. 2024 was the first year that coffees were div
