  2. Banda Sea Diving Guide: Ultimate Travel & Liveaboard Guide to Indonesia’s Forgotten Islands
    Mar 17, 2026 · original
Why dive the Banda Sea? The Banda Sea, Indonesia is one of the most remote and rewarding dive destinations on Earth. Known as part of the legendary Spice Islands (Maluku) , this region blends dramatic volcanic landscapes, rich colonial history, and some of the most pristine marine ecosystems left in the Indo-Pacific. Stretching roughly 600 miles east to west and 300 miles north to south , the Banda Sea sits at the heart of the Coral Triangle—home to the highest marine biodiversity on the planet. But what truly sets Banda Sea apart? Schooling hammerheads, whales, sea snakes, lava flow reefs, and untouched coral walls—all in one trip. Best Time to Dive the Banda Sea The Banda Sea is highly seasonal, and timing your trip correctly is crucial. The best months for diving are: April – May August – October During these periods, divers benefit from: Calm seas and safer crossings Excellent underw
  3. Northern vs Central vs Deep South: Choosing the Best Red Sea Liveaboard Itinerary in Egypt
    Sep 25, 2025 · original
The Egyptian Red Sea is one of the world’s top diving destinations, offering everything from legendary wrecks to shark encounters and pristine coral reefs. But with so many liveaboard itineraries—ranging from the Northern Red Sea to the Central Brothers–Daedalus–Elphinstone (BDE) route and all the way to the Deep South—it can be hard to know which trip is right for you. This guide will help you choose the best Red Sea liveaboard itinerary for your diving preferences. We cover the top dive sites in each region, the best times to visit, and the marine life you’re likely to encounter—so you can make an informed choice. 4. All Star Scuba Scene Trip Report – Deep South Red Sea July 2025
    Aug 5, 2025 · original
Vessel All Star Scuba Scene completely lived up to the high-end reputation that made me want to go on this boat. Everything onboard is clean, spacious, and makes you feel like you’re on a much more expensive trip (example, I’ve never seen another liveaboard with a swimming pool). I was in cabin 8, which is one of the two “single cabins” that has a double bed and a twin bed inside. Since I had the cabin to myself, I put my suitcase on the twin bed and didn’t bother unpacking my clothes into the storage cabinet. The cabin has more than enough space for one person. Putting two people in the cabin might be a little tight, but I think the lower price would make up for that. How much time do we actually spend in our cabins on a dive trip anyway? The bathroom was nice and pretty large (the whole width of the cabin). Toilet on one end, shower on the other, and sink in the middle. The shower is e

  6. Triton Bay – Liveaboard Diving with Whale Sharks
    May 16, 2025 · original
Dive with whale sharks in Triton Bay, West Papua, Indonesia aboard All Star Aurora Liveaboard Triton, son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, lived in a golden palace at the bottom of the sea with his parents. Triton Bay certainly honors its namesake with vibrant corals, the ever-popular whale sharks, and an abundance of fish life that will nearly block out the sun when you’re looking up. Triton Bay is in the Kaimana MPA (Marine Protected Area) on the south of the Bird’s Head Peninsula in the West Papua province. Kaimana is the nearest city and still a 2-hour boat ride away from Triton Bay. Kaimana has a population of 13,000 people, only one dive resort, and a limited number of dive liveaboards offering itineraries to Triton Bay. It is largely untouched, with new dive sites frequently being discovered. The marine topography includes sloping walls, pinnacles, muck diving, and giant volcanic bould
  7. Safety onboard All Star Scuba Scene | One of the Safest Red Sea Liveaboards
    May 13, 2025 · original
Are Liveaboards Safe? Last Updated March 2026 In general, liveaboards are very safe. At any given moment, hundreds of dive liveaboards around the world are in the middle of successful charters, operating smoothly and returning to port exactly as planned. Most professionally run liveaboards are well maintained and staffed by trained crews capable of responding effectively to emergency situations. That said, recent media coverage of liveaboard incidents has understandably caused some divers to question safety standards within the industry. These concerns are valid. As divers, adventure and exploration are part of who we are—but that never means accepting unnecessary risk. The reality is simple: not all liveaboards or operators are created equal . Safety depends on vessel design, onboard systems, crew training, maintenance practices, and a culture that prioritizes prevention over reaction.
  8. Ultimate Red Sea – Our Favorite Egypt Itinerary
    May 13, 2025 · original
What makes this the Ultimate Red Sea diving itinerary? Our annual 2-week Ultimate Red Sea itinerary on All Star Scuba Scene is a truly special adventure for any diver wanting to see it all. Departing from Port Ghalib, we start in Egypt’s Deep South region, work our way all the way up through the Central/Southern region, and finish the trip in the North before disembarking in Hurghada. The key to this itinerary’s star power is its timing. Along the way, we visit specific areas of the Red Sea during their unique peak seasons. As we explore the Deep South, it’s the season for hammerheads cruising in small groups around iconic Daedalus Reef. Other parts of the Deep South, such as St. John’s, Zabargad, and Rocky Island, boast pristine corals and impressive topography. Continuing northbound, divers visit the Central/Southern region’s famous sites including Elphinstone Reef and the Brothers Isl

Walk with Komodo Dragons and Dive with Manta Rays Aboard One of All Star’s Indonesian Dive Liveaboards! Ask any diver where they would like to visit in Indonesia and the #1 response will undoubtedly be Raja Ampat . And while Raja Ampat is home to more species of fish and coral and gets most of the publicity, Komodo is a close second. With over 1,000 species of fish, 300 types of coral, six turtle species, and even dugongs, Komodo National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been named one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Consider Komodo to be the “sleeper” destination in a country that spans some 1,200 miles from north to south and more than 3,000 miles from east to west. For those looking for exceptional liveaboard diving – this is the place. Why Dive Komodo? My first trip to Indonesia was to Komodo, and I was blown away! Komodo is one of the most important ecosystems in the
