    Currently working out the kinks in a tampermonkey userscript to clean up the empty paragraphs AO3's WYSIWYG unintentionally encourages authors to put in between every actual text paragraph. If I get it working reliably would anyone be interested in it?

    According to its latest release notes , the QBE compiler backend now has support for shared libraries on most targets . Hopefully, this means the Hare programming language will get this support too soon, which would resolve one of my major gripes with it .

    As a hopefully-final update to my last body customization post , an online acquaintance of mine, Gwen, has persuaded me that hyperchitinized living tissue would be superior to keratin on aesthetic grounds, and due to its ability to grow and heal it would mostly or entirely avoid the need to molt. I think this would also allow more complex shapes, potentially bringing back the full humanoid ear with earring hole, while probably eliminating polishing and sanding from my personal maintenance routine. Gwen also pointed out that my design would be extremely vulnerable to fire, due to my need to breathe to cool down causing me to inhale carbon monoxide and smoke.     I wanted to add some more details on top of my post about customizing my body into a pseudo-bug-thing , so here I go. First I want to note a correction: Originally I said that hydraulic musculature doesn't exist in nature, but I was wrong and had managed to forget that arachnids have it. I corrected the original as well. Let's begin where I left off with color. In my mind I imagine a color like this skyish blue , although maybe with a little translucency where it is thinner. This would be the color for my armor; beneath would be the normal red of mammal flesh, or in some places the pink of mucous membrane , rather than any human skin tone. As previously mentioned, my eyes would be entirely black, with the hard transparent shell over them probably making it a shiny black.     This is a pretty unusual post, I know. But the question came up in an in-person conversation of what you would do if you could completely customize your body, and I talked for a while, so now I want to write it down. And if I'm going to write it down I may as well post it. I'm going to be assuming that in this magical scenario I have an unlimited ability to iterate, e.g. that I will not die if I decide to try something that stops my body from functioning properly, and that I have complete control but do not need to precisely understand my own biology to exercise it. To start, I am of course transgender, so I will naturally be immediately grabbing the breast size slider and dragging it up by a significant amount, switching out the genitals wholesale, making my voice sound more feminine, and then I will spend many hours fiddling with my face.
