- World Alzheimer’s Day!
Sep 21, 2026 · original
World Alzheimer’s Day is Monday, September 21. This year’s campaign is “The Earlier You Know, The More You Can Do.” I have a slight twist on that message: “The More You Know, The More You Can Do.” While it’s never too late to start a memory improvement program, the choices we make in our younger and middle years profoundly affect our long-term brain health and function. Proactive lifestyle habits are among our strongest tools for protecting the brain and reducing Alzheimer’s risk. We encourage you to discuss brain health with your clinician and consider requesting a baseline cognitive assessment. Education is power. In honor of World Alzheimer’s Month, we’re highlighting yoga – a dynamic, accessible practice for longevity that you can do almost anywhere. Yoga can be as simple as a breathing exercise that brings awareness to your mind, body, and spirit. 3 Ways Yoga Supports Brain Health R - No More Doctors

A few years ago, I had a really bad attack of vertigo that landed me in the E.R. – I was pretty sick! The E.R. doc came in and began asking me about all my symptoms. Then he said something that has stuck with me and has more relevance today. “Let me ask Dr. Google.” I was too out of it to laugh, but now that I think about it, it’s pretty weird. Here is a person with 12 years of higher education and a board-certified emergency medicine physician asking a computer to make the diagnosis. It wasn’t even a hard case, mind you. Just a run-of-the-mill bad case of vertigo. Anyway, the doctor gave me some anti-vertigo medication, which helped a lot. It quieted me down quite a bit, and as one of the nurses said, “You’re back.” They got a CAT scan anyway to make sure I wasn’t having a stroke because that’s protocol; they hydrated me and sent me “a la casa.” Today I read an article in the NY Times t - Spiritual Intelligence for Meaningful Aging

Maruti Ram Gudavalli, a yoga teacher and graduate of the BLTT, is bringing the 4 Pillars of Alzheimer’s Prevention® to life for older adults through free community workshops. In April, Dr. Gudavalli led a two‑day Brain Longevity® Workshop at the Lake Nona senior living community in Florida, with 34 participants on Saturday and around 50 on Sunday. Each two‑hour session walked through the 4 Pillars – diet and supplements, stress management, exercise, and spiritual fitness – and he wove in practical tools like simple yoga postures, healthy‑eating guidance, and stress‑reduction strategies. Every session ended with an introduction to Kirtan Kriya meditation, which participants practiced together and received as part of their take‑home toolkit. Dear friends, Prevention, once viewed as fringe science, is now globally recognized as the frontier of cognitive longevity. But while lifestyle medicine is currently having its moment in the spotlight, our commitment isn’t new. For 33 years, ARPF has been quietly doing the heavy lifting: conducting, publishing, and championing peer-reviewed clinical research on integrative brain health. Because of that foresight, our work is more relevant today than ever. To celebrate our 33rd anniversary, we’ve opened our vault to share our gold-standard presentations on brain health and Alzheimer’s Prevention. It’s not too late to catch the ARPF Greatest Hits: Docuseries , which launched on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. It’s airing all month long, so you still have time to join and access the replays. Each session is specially edited to focus on practical, time-tested takeaways you can put to work immediate - Thank You to Our Donors: July

We had such a fantastic webinar that we can’t help but share the community’s response. If you didn’t get a chance to attend, you can still register for the recording . It has been a highlight of ARPF programs. Thank you for offering this amazing, deeply inspiring presentation! I was moved by this broader and affirming perspective on aging. So much depth of knowledge compressed into a 60-minute presentation. I couldn’t write fast enough to take down all the pearls of wisdom. This presentation was not only evidence-based, but inspiring and reassuring as it passed the mid-70s range. This is something to be shared widely, building respect for aging. The depth and breadth of Dr. Walling’s knowledge is astounding. The perspectives he shared today both corroborated leanings that I’ve been having (as I inhabit my eighth decade on Earth), as well as offering new reframes of how aging is seen by m - Honoring a Legacy on the Green: The Silver Fox Classic Golf Outing Raises over $15K for Alzheimer’s Prevention

We are honored to share the success of a very special event: the Annual Silver Fox Classic Golf Outing held on May 30, 2026 . This wonderful tradition is held in loving memory of Ron Schulberger, who passed away from Alzheimer’s disease in 2017. Ron’s family and friends chose to turn his legacy into a powerful force for hope, awareness, and prevention. The Silver Fox Classic has become a beacon of community spirit. For Ron’s son, Todd Schulberger, the event is a blend of remembering the quality and impact of his father’s life while actively funding the future of brain health and longevity. Todd (right) and his team. Todd shared what this tournament means to his family: “We wanted to honor my father’s legacy and raise money for Alzheimer’s awareness and prevention. This tournament continues to be a huge hit – this year especially, we maxed out our attendance with 148 golfers and had the m - Brain Longevity Specialist Spotlight

By Ashley McKeachie, MA, C-IAYT, E-RYT-500, BLS Since 2022, I have worked extensively with adults over 55 in a college-based health and wellness program centered on active aging. I was drawn to the Brain Longevity® Therapy Training (BLTT) because it aligned so closely with my passion for evidence-based approaches that support the cognitive, emotional, and physical well-being of older adults. I wanted to deepen my understanding of the brain health concerns affecting this population so I could better support and empower the individuals I serve. One of the most meaningful parts of this work has been sharing the Kirtan Kriya practice with more than 200 Saddleback College Emeritus Health and Wellness students. Participants often express appreciation for having a welcoming space to engage in practices that support cognitive health, emotional resilience, and stress reduction. Many have also sha
