    Sep 25, 2026 · original
AmericanHort Urges Extension of China-Built Vessel Fee Suspension AmericanHort joined a broad coalition of agricultural, manufacturing, retail, and transportation organizations in urging the U.S. Trade Representative to extend the suspension of Section 301 fees on China-built and China-linked vessels before it expires on November 9, 2026. Resuming the fees could raise shipping costs and create further uncertainty for U.S. importers and exporters already facing supply chain pressures. The letter calls for a long-term strategy to strengthen U.S. shipbuilding while preserving reliable, affordable ocean transportation for American businesses. 5. Grow Forward: Prevent Burnout with Working Genius
    Sep 14, 2026 · original
Grow Forward : Prevent Burnout with Working Genius Every team runs into two familiar frustrations: some tasks feel effortless while others drain us, and even great ideas stall somewhere between conception and completion. The Working Genius model, developed by Patrick Lencioni, gives teams a shared language for understanding why that happens, and a practical way to work better together. This session introduces the model’s foundations to attendees in a fast-paced, discussion-rich format. No assessment is required; participants will leave with a working understanding of the framework they can apply immediately, and a foundation for taking the full assessment later if their organization chooses. You’ll learn: The Three Stages of Work: how every project or initiative moves through Ideation, Activation, and Implementation, and why teams stall when a stage is under-resourced or rushed. An Overv

AmericanHort Joins H-2B Coalition Call for Processing Fixes On September 9, AmericanHort and the H-2B Coalition sent a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, and Acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling requesting immediate administrative fixes to H-2B processing problems that are preventing approved workers from reaching seasonal employers on time. The letter asks the Administration to pilot interview waivers for low-risk returning H-2B workers, create a real process for correcting erroneous USCIS petition rejections while preserving the original filing date, and move toward electronic filing and concurrent DOL-USCIS processing modeled on the H-2A program. AmericanHort serves on the Steering Committee for the H-2B Coalition. Click here to view letter More AmericanHort News June and July 2026 New AmericanHort Members August 31, 2026 Quarter
  8. AmericanHort Joins Ag Coalition in Urging House to Pass the Securing Agriculture’s Workforce Act
    Sep 11, 2026 · original
AmericanHort Joins Ag Coalition in Urging House to Pass the Securing Agriculture's Workforce Act On September 9, AmericanHort joined members of the Agriculture Workforce Coalition in a letter urging House leadership and the House Judiciary Committee to swiftly pass H.R. 9535, the Securing Agriculture’s Workforce Act. The letter follows an August 26 federal court ruling that invalidated the Department of Labor’s H-2A wage rule, leaving growers with no clarity on how wages will be set and the possibility of back-wage liability. SAWA would provide the first meaningful H-2A reform in 40 years and give farmers the certainty they need to plan their operations year to year. 10. AmericanHort Urges Congress to Protect Equipment Choice
    Sep 8, 2026 · original
AmericanHort Urges Congress to Protect Equipment Choice AmericanHort joined a broad coalition representing agriculture, manufacturing, energy, transportation, and other industries in urging congressional leaders to overturn six California emissions rules under the Congressional Review Act. The rules affect vehicles, small off-road engines, commercial harbor craft, and ocean-going vessels and could restrict or prohibit the use of internal combustion engines. For horticulture businesses, California’s Small Off-Road Engine amendments are particularly concerning because they could limit access to essential gas-powered landscape and outdoor power equipment. The letter calls on Congress to protect consumer choice and pursue practical policies that support cleaner technologies while maintaining affordability, reliability, and U.S. economic competitiveness.
