    In the spirit of the season of the Peak of the Fire and the celebration of Ferragosto, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the beauty of life. This moment in time represents the ending of a cycle—a time of celebration and gratitude. The Peak of the Fire also marks the height of the summer season, when we most often witness the intensity of the flame burning both internally and externally. While we can all agree that the heat has turned up, and that we have most recently witnessed our Earth Mother literally ignited in flames, we too can look within to see where we have succumbed to the distorted flame of forgetfulness, fueled by heightened mental chatter, fear, and chaotic thought forms.
