Monday 5th October 2026 Give thanks: For leadership provision: We’re thankful for our new elder, Trevor Weedon, taking up his role in an active sense in September. He’s already proving a huge support on council and as a trustee. For community links: We’re grateful for a better relationship with the school where we meet through the hard work of a number of church members in helping with painting and tasks around the school site. For growth and new paths: We’re thankful for those who have come to faith and yet moved on to pastures new, both to university or leaving university. For restored health: We are thankful that our pastor John Parker’s health has improved such that he’s now able to fulfil his duties fully. Please pray: For financial provision: Our main challenge at the moment is financial, having lost some significant givers from the church. We have presented the financial needs to

Monday 28th September Give thanks: That he sustains his people through various trials, providing eternal hope even in situations that can feel hopeless. Praise God that he is doing this for his people at Grace Church. We’re thankful for opportunities to share Christ with those in our local area. Give thanks especially for new people attending our toddler group (Junior Jivers), Community Cafe and English Conversation Class. We’re also giving thanks for three new staff members – a maternity cover youth and children’s worker, and two part-time administrative assistants. Please pray: For our efforts to reach our community with the gospel. Pray for our regular ministries, a quiz on 3rd October, and plans for a Christianity Explored course. We’re grateful that we get to share Christ with many different people. Please pray that he would work to bring people to saving faith. We’re delighted to b

Monday 21st September Give thanks: For opportunities for encouragement and refreshment over the summer at youth camps, the Keswick Convention, and the PT Cornhill Summer School. For many across the church family committing to new areas of service this year. For the commissioning of our first missionary couple, preparing for front-line gospel ministry in Spain. Please pray: For the beginning of a new academic year: For returning students, that they would not drift in the early weeks but settle back quickly into local church life; and Christian Freshers might find a home where they can be discipled well and grow in knowledge and love of God; that the church family would disciple them well. That many in the congregation will recommit themselves to our midweek groups as they start up again after the summer, and that our studies in Romans will both transform and equip us all to stand, live, a

Monday 14th September Give thanks: For continued good Sunday attendance over the summer months and that our Summer Bible Study in Colossians was a great encouragement to many. For all the visitors and new people who have joined us over the summer. We are so thankful for the safe birth and dedication of a new baby boy in the congregation. We are humbled by the spirit of joyfulness and godly enthusiasm that pervades our congregation, even in times of suffering. Please play: That the re-branding of our toddler group will attract new parents and that we will have boldness in proclaiming Christ to them. For our home groups as they start back this autumn, that new joiners will feel accepted and that all will delight in God’s word together. That our Church Council will have energy, cohesion and wisdom to continue to lead well. That our children’s groups will thrive and that the youngsters will

Monday 7th September Give thanks: For our summer programme of events for the whole church family. This programme included a range of different events such as coffee mornings, picnics in the park, live streaming of the Keswick Convention, and a visit to an allotment. Give thanks for intergenerational engagement and pray that the conversations we had will deepen relationships. For a Family Summer Club at the end of August, where the children learned about the story of Jonah. Pray that God’s word would take root in young hearts. For a number of summer camps – Maidwell and Wensleydale. Many children and young people attended from the church (and across the Christ Church Network) and lots of leaders and assistant leaders as well. Pray that the teaching received and the good times had will have a lasting impact on everyone. Please pray: For a new ‘Firm Foundations’ course starting in September

Monday 27th July Give thanks: For our open-air service at Cambridge City Football Club’s CityFest in Sawston. We thank God for the opportunity to witness to Him publicly and the support of Cambridge City’s chaplain. For sustaining our church for 20 years. We celebrated our birthday in May. For the appointment of Ed Mezzetti as our Minister and the faithful service of our Elders and Trustees. For the many local parents and toddlers who attend our Little Ones group each week. Please pray: For wisdom for our Elders and Trustees as we look to recruit another Minister to serve alongside Ed. For us all to grow our relationships with non-Christian friends and neighbours. For church family who are serving on and attending summer camps to be encouraged in their faith. For our upcoming Bible teaching in Psalms, 1 Thessalonians and Micah. Monday 20th July Give thanks: For a number of baptisms and reaffirmations over the last few months and especially thank God for gospel fruit from evangelistic endeavours. For the number of people and families from the local community who have come to different Guest services and a Community Fun day recently (pray for new believers to be made from these). For the steady growth in corporate prayer among the church family. Particularly thank God that this is across the generations (keep praying for more!). Please pray: That as we add an elder and grow new teams across the church that more and more members of Christ Church Riverside would be better equipped for works of service. For the four outreach events to families and young people that are taking place on the 21st and 22nd July. Pray for good partnership and service in the church family and for gospel fruit amongst unbelievers as the go

Monday 13th July Give thanks for: At Trinity Church Bristol, we have a lot to be thankful for. The long academic year has just finished, and we had a good year working through Mark’s Gospel with the students; for the first time, we mirrored this with the adults so they were both in sync. New adults have joined us, and as such, we are considering trying to plant a new house group, which is very exciting. Please also give thanks for a fun year as a staff team. The four of us got on very well and worked well together. While our finances are not exactly stellar, this is the first time we have not been dependent on outside support. Please give thanks for this, as student ministry is expensive and many students cannot afford to give much. Please pray for: In the short term, please pray for our “Summer Mode,” where staff take a break and we listen to pre-recorded talks. On a recent Sunday, we h

Monday 29th June Give thanks: For His faithfulness in growing and sustaining AMiE, and for the churches, leaders and ministries represented at Synod. For the work that has gone into preparing for Synod, and for all those serving behind the scenes to make the day possible. For the unity we enjoy in the gospel and our shared commitment to seeing churches started and strengthened for God’s glory. Please pray: For a productive and encouraging Synod on 4th July, marked by wisdom, grace and a shared desire to honour Christ in all discussions and decisions. For the Bishops, Standing Committee, Executive Team and Synod members as they consider important matters relating to AMiE’s future vision and growth. For good fellowship throughout the day, with opportunities to encourage one another, strengthen partnerships and give thanks for what God is doing across the Diocese. The post AMiE Synod 2026 a

Monday 22nd June Give thanks: For lots of encouragements as gospel seeds were sown through our Life ’26 Mission events in partnership with two other local churches before Easter. For the launch of our new Friday night Youth ministry, Anchor, for 11-14s providing a space for fun, fellowship and inviting non-Christian friends to come and encounter Christ. For God’s blessing and grace as we’ve multiplied from one to two Sunday services to make space for newcomers. We’re so thankful for those who’ve stepped up to serve in new ways, for the deeper fellowship we’re enjoying, and the many new people who’ve joined us. For Lesley Flecknell’s ordination as a vocational deacon, recognising and supporting her ministry as our Women’s and Communities worker. Please pray: For a new after-school club we’ve recently launched on Mondays for children in Y3-Y6. Pray that lots of children from the local comm

Monday 15th June Give thanks for: We will be five years old towards the end of the year and God has incredibly never let the olive oil run dry despite the numbers saying otherwise! We have had some steady growth over the last two years, which has been a real blessing and a lesson in patience too. Our venue really couldn’t be any more practical and was a real find. This has proved to be one less thing to be concerned about and a real comfort. Please pray for: A family moving overseas last year was a huge loss to us. We would love for at least another two new families to join us. Again, patience is clearly needed for that. For a wider age demographic within the church family to help with longer term sustainability. Our location is not a part of the world that people tend to move to – certainly not for work purposes. And we are nowhere near having the means to employ someone else. So please

Monday 8th June Give thanks: For a lovely lady who turned up on Easter Sunday and has come every Sunday since, has done Christianity Explored and wants to get baptised. For great provision in music. We’ve got an excellent and thoughtful pianist who helps us worship the Lord, and several other musicians who are able to support and step in when needed. For a church family who really like each other and like being together. We’ve really enjoyed worshipping together on Sundays and eating together weekly since the church started in January. Please pray: For those who attend regularly but have not yet come to Christ. Pray the Lord would grant them faith. For us to have great compassion on Bracknell and a great desire to see the Lord pour out his Spirit abundantly. For wisdom as we think through intentional discipleship in these early days of the church. The post Christ Church Bracknell appeare
