- Family-Friendly Luxury Hotel: Regent Santa Monica Beach
Nov 11, 2025 · original
A Beachfront Family Escape in Santa Monica We had an absolutely fantastic family trip to LA last month! The weather was beautiful. The Dodgers played in the World Series. And the kids lived their best life. We really couldn’t have asked for a better vacay with our one- and five-year-old daughters. And a huge part of our trip’s success was thanks to Regent Santa Monica Beach . In our many years traveling to Southern California, it’s our favorite family-friendly luxury hotel in Los Angeles! Usually when we visit LA we stay on the east side of town. However this time around, we wanted to be on the west side so the girls could get some beach time. I’d heard about Regent Santa Monica Beach when it first opened in 2024. It’s quickly gained a reputation as one of best hotels in Santa Monica. We booked three nights in one of their oceanfront suites and couldn’t have been more impressed with the - Carry On Only Packing List for a Trip Up to 3 Weeks!
Jun 3, 2024 · original
Last year we took a trip to Europe that was 21 days long, crossed multiple climate zones, and involved multiple airline flights and train rides. We also had our toddler with us, including all her gear (stroller, etc!) so traveling with a carry-on only packing list was key to our success. The last thing we wanted to do was be dragging multiple huge suitcases across a continent! Here’s exactly what I brought with my tips and some links. Of course, this is just a guide that worked for me. Feel free to adjust according to your personal preferences, your destination, etc. Choose Versatile Neutral Clothes for a Carry-On Only Packing List I focused on mix-and-match neutrals so that every item in my suitcase could be worn together! The result was over 30 outfit combinations: 4 long sleeved tops: This can be a mix of button-downs and lightweight sweaters or long sleeve tees. I get cold easily, so - Outdoor Living Room Ideas for a Stylish Summer Retreat
May 1, 2024 · original
I’ve always loved summer, but since we moved to the mountains where it’s snowy for much of the year, I’m savoring the warm months even more! Thus far, the exterior spaces have been neglected while we focused on refurbishing the inside of our home. But this year I’m determined to take advantage of every ray of sunshine. So just in time for summer, we transformed this unused corner of our yard into an outdoor living room that’s ideal for lounging and entertaining all season long! What to Consider When Designing an Outdoor Living Room Before choosing the pieces for our outdoor lounge, I thought first about the setting I was working with. Our yard is quite woodsy with lots of foliage. I therefore focused on furnishings in a mix of natural materials like wood and wicker, with a neutral palette that would complement the greenery of our plant life as well as the paint of the house. As well, I’v - Multi-Purpose Room Design with Moody, Modern Style

This room makeover has been a long time coming. I’m so excited finally to share the result! It began last summer when we decided to transform our dated guest room into a multi-purpose room design that could function as a home office, a seating area, and a space to sleep visitors. We knew it would need a major overhaul, including new paint, wallpaper, and floors, and all the finishing touches. So in July, we ripped up the carpet and got to work! What we didn’t expect, however, was that between the time we began the renovation until when we finished in December, we’d need to pivot and turn part of this room into a nursery. (Baby #2 coming soon!) Thankfully, the footprint measures 25 x 11, so the space can accommodate a lot. And although plans for a desk and office chair have to make way for a crib and glider, we were able to keep the vision of a seating and sleeping area. As you can see in - Quiet Luxury Sweaters for Winter and Beyond
Jan 30, 2024 · original
With winter in full swing and my pregnancy progressing into its 2nd trimester, I’ve been leaning hard on a steady rotation of quiet luxury sweaters to keep me feeling both cozy and stylish. The whole vibe is pretty darn effortless, since each piece is meant to be simple, subtle, and able to mix and match with everything else in your wardrobe. Plus knitwear is tailor-made for for the quiet luxury trend since a great sweater can be an outfit-maker in and of itself! Here’s what I keep in mind when creating my go-to outfits. How to Shop for Quiet Luxury Sweaters With its mix of classic, minimalist silhouettes and investment-worthy materials, the quiet luxury trend is SO up my alley! When shopping for quiet luxury knits, go for timeless neutral hues like camel and cream, oatmeal and cocoa, charcoal and ink. Basically, if the name of the color sounds elegant and rich, you’re on the right track - Bedroom Decor Update to Elevate Your Space

Sometimes rooms evolve over time and get better with age. And sometimes, they become a mishmash of pieces that are individually nice but that don’t work particularly well as a group. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what had happened to our bedroom in the past year. It was feeling flat, boring, and blah—so it was time for a simple bedroom decor update from AllModern to give it new life! Variety Is the Key to Next Level Bedroom Design In the photo above, you can see exactly what I mean when I say our bedroom was feeling flat. There’s nothing objectively wrong with any of the items—indeed I chose each one because I liked it—but they’re all the same tonal and textural quality. Incorporating a variety of contrasting finishes, dynamic shapes, and inviting textures makes for a space that keeps the eye interested. I’d need to boost all three of those design elements in order to elevate this boring - Modern Entryway Decor with Earthy, Organic Accents

We’re back with another deep dive into my designs for the Living By Design Virtual Showhouse ! I had so much fun selecting modern entryway decor for a mudroom that feels both utilitarian and stylish—and small decor accents played a huge roll in striking the balance between those two essential characteristics! Elements like lighting and wall accents not make a space feel complete, they can enhance the functionality of the room. The lighting and decor sponsor for the showhouse was Lamps Plus . Their wide range of exclusive patented designs and artisan-made custom shades and lamps made it hard to decide, but I eventually narrowed in on an uneven round frame mirror and a resin table lamp with a gorgeous earthy texture. In fact, I fell so hard for these pieces in the showhouse renderings that I had to incorporate them into my home IRL. Read on to learn why I selected them and why they work so - Durable Flooring for High Traffic Areas Like a Mudroom
Jan 4, 2024 · original
I had so much fun earlier this year designing two rooms in the Living By Design Virtual Showhouse ! The resulting interiors were so inspiring that I’m excited to dive a little deeper into some of the materials I used—by starting from the ground up and taking a closer look at the floors. Because I was responsible for designing the mudroom and adjacent laundry room, I knew I’d need to select extra durable flooring for high traffic areas. After all, these spaces see a ton of messy action! The flooring sponsor for the showhouse was AHF Products® , and with literally thousands of flooring options in their product catalog, there was plenty to choose from. I pretty quickly narrowed in on Armstrong Flooring Alterna® Kalla Travertine Engineered Tile in Cream Buff . It checked all my boxes for style and function, and it literally set the foundation for a stunning final design! Choosing Durable Flo - Modern Holiday Table Ideas for Festive Entertaining

I’m so excited to announce that for the second year in a row, I’ve designed a space in the Living By Design Showhouse , a one-of-a-kind showhouse that’s entirely virtual! (Translation, anyone in the world can tour it from the comfort of their couch!) In fact, this year I got to design not one but two rooms: A modern laundry room and the coolest mudroom ever! This incredibly cool journey began last winter when the showhouse production team at Embello invited me to be one of 12 highly respected designers to create a space in a stunning virtual home. I was excited to be on board, but I also have to be honest: When I was assigned the laundry room, I felt a little deflated. Laundry is my least favorite chore, and designing a laundry room didn’t sound interesting at all. But then, I realized that was actually the perfect perspective to be starting from. After all, this was my chance to create
