Rember CommodoreUSA madness? If you remember few years back small LCC from USA dubbed CommodoreUSA aquired Amiga name from Amiga Inc and commodore name from unknown source (Tulip?) First they promised AROS development but soon switched to cheap model of overtaxing ITX boards in C64x case (while case is nice) and bundling modified themed old MINT as CommodoreOS This alone would not be nothing new if on their website and social media they did not try to present themselves as continuation of old Commodore promising AmigaMinis etc. So I fought it hard as seen here https://anticusa.wordpress.com Owner died, but it seems Leo (2nd in command, theming MINT with no MINT credits) survived and now tries to restart C64x and CommodoreOS milking scheme. Yasu's MorphOS Blog If you come from an Amiga background and want to know about the similarities and differences between AmigaOS 3.1 and MorphOS, I recommend you to read the guide: MorphOS in 5 minutes – a brief introduction for users familiar with the Commodore Amiga by Ulrich Beckers. It explains it better than I ever could. It’s a much more difficult task to explain to someone who has never used an Amiga at all of what makes MorphOS appealing to some. I myself comes from an Amiga background so for me it’s „obvious“. But after thinking about it a little, one have to realise that there was something appealing in the original AmigaOS that made people switch to it from other existing OS’s. The founder of Commodore USA, Barry Altman has died on 8th December 2012 from cancer. Source Even this blog author has never shared Barrys over-enthusiasm, and has constantly indicated some of the mistakes, having the man gone is never a good news. Each man gone is a loss, and company CommodoreUSA still has to prove itself as innovative.
