This film was quite a surprise for me. All I knew was that it featured aliens, it was Korean, and that was about it. It turned out to be shockingly better than I expected and easily one of the most intense and exhilarating action movies I’ve seen in a while. The action is the main highlight here, and it’s executed exceptionally well. The sequences feel tight, intense, and visceral, as if the film wants you to feel trapped in the chaos alongside the characters. The pressure never lets up, and that relentless intensity carries the entire movie. Visually, the cinematography and camera work are impressive. The film looks far better than expected, especially considering potential budget constraints. The framing, camera movement, and overall look add more weight to the action. The End of Oak Street is better than I expected. I thought it would be just a dumb, fun movie, but the technical aspects made me respect it. It’s still a dumb, fun movie, though LOL. The camerawork is amazing! I love how they create suspense with visuals and sound. It’s subtle yet engaging throughout the movie. This alone makes the film worth watching, imo. Anne Hathaway carried the film so hard, I felt like she either overdid it a bit or got a different memo somehow. Everyone else seems like they’re acting in a dumb, fun movie, while she performs like she’s going for acting nominations. LMAO. Seriously, though, she’s fantastic in this. However, the movie still has the same tropes: characters are dumber than rocks and can’t think straight for more than a few seconds. Happy Birthday to Me! 🎂 Enjoying meals and singing my heart out with my family in the karaoke room today. Taking part in a fun Spider-Man event. Getting our pictures taken in a statue style (from the Odyssey movie photo booth), which get transformed into magnets we can all put on the fridge. That’s a great birthday for me. I'm getting older, but I don't feel old at all. In fact, I'm feeling stronger every day, thanks to consistent movement training I’ve been doing day after day. After this, I'll be transitioning from a gym lifestyle to training at home. It's a bit bittersweet leaving that part of my life behind, but I'm confident I can move even better without a gym. That's how life is. As you grow, there are always parts of yourself you have to leave behind to make room for the future. The only way forward is to give your best effort—growing out of something old and into something new.

I really appreciate the simplicity of Spider-Man Brand New Day . It's so simple, yet effective. It truly feels like a Spider-Man and Peter Parker story, with Tom Holland fully embodying the role in this film. I used to feel like he hadn't quite grasped the character (but parts of it was due to previous movies’ scripts), but here he finally perfected it. The film carries all the heart of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, hitting the usual themes of responsibility and sacrifice, but with a newfound maturity. The action scenes and camerawork are amazing! I grinned through scene after scene, thinking to myself, "God, this is cool!" The world-building is also great, it feels so lived in. Supergirl is fun and entertaining, and it really helps you understand the essence of who Kara is (much better than Clark in Superman , imo). However, if this is the film released after James Gunn explicitly stated he would greenlight only strong scripts, then I worry about the future of this DC universe, because the film's biggest weakness is its story. The script is not outright bad. I do enjoy the Krypton and Superman storylines, but much of the story progression feels either predictable or frustrating. Nearly half of the runtime comes across as pointless or underwhelming, driven by a plot filled with one convenient device after another. Their storytelling skills are so lacking they couldn't come up with anything else to create stakes but to nerf the main characters. I realized that my attention span has been fried since the start of the year, then taking a significant nosedive during my 18-day USA road trip with Dad. I found it hard to concentrate on anything for long, except for watching series and scrolling through social media and Reddit. So, I decided it was time to retrain myself to focus and improve my attention span. I began by writing Morning Pages every day for 10 minutes after returning from the road trip. I simply jot down whatever is on my mind. It’s a simple practice, but it helps me slow down and remember what it feels like to stick with my own thoughts without reaching for my phone. I had an absolute blast watching this, so much so that I felt a bit guilty about how hard I laughed at the gruesome and horrible deeds these people did. The movie is just too great at making terrible things look hilarious! LMAO It started off slowly, allowing the reality of her miserable life to sink into our minds, providing justification for the story. Then we are gradually introduced to the toxic, codependent relationship, giving us a glimpse of how far these two can go to hurt one another until everything goes haywire. I love a crazy story about crazy people! I went in blind, letting the narrative unfold before my eyes, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't believe how well-executed this movie was, it nailed the vibe from start to finish. It's not easy to make ordinary lives feel ominous while characters shrug it off repeatedly as if it's nothing, but they pulled it off so well that it kept me on the edge of my seat—followed by deep sighs of relief multiple times—until the story shifted gears and went full throttle into absolute madness! Who would have thought that a story about a beekeeper kidnapping a successful CEO because he believes she's an alien would make me question reality so intensely my brain might short-circuit? This movie could easily have been titled “ Greenland: One Disaster After Another .” To begin with, I don’t believe Greenland needed a sequel, but the crew clearly aimed to spread hope during these challenging and seemingly hopeless times. Thus, the story shifts from the fear and desperation of the disaster in the original film to a radical optimism, despite all the obstacles thrown their way. I must admit I enjoyed this movie more than I expected (though my expectations were pretty low, lol). It still excels at building emotional tension and making us root for the characters. As much as I like Gerard Butler, I believe Morena Baccarin is the true star of the film, carrying the movie as the emotional anchor of the story. It's a new year, yet I remain the same old me. You can't shed your identity simply because the calendar year changes. These arbitrary numbers have no real connection to your life. What truly impacts your life? Your choices and actions. So, regardless of the year, I'd remain the same miserable person unless I choose to change my actions. That's why I've stopped focusing on New Year's resolutions and started embracing New Year's assessments. Rather than setting goals and hoping the New Year hype will carry me toward them, I'm reflecting on the actions I should leave behind and considering how to adopt new ones throughout the year. What do I need to change, and how can I make those changes? First, I need to let go of my dopamine-driven yet unrewarding activities. I enjoyed this delightfully dumb story and how the group of friends reconnects, rekindling their youthful spirit by making a reimagined Anaconda film. The cast brings their own charm and chemistry, making it impossible not to root for them despite their clear foolishness. LOL The jokes are silly and the plot wildly predictable, yet it kept me chuckling throughout with a few genuine laugh-out-loud moments. Of course, I wish the script had raised the stakes and added some character development, much like how the anaconda dramatically elevates the story's tension. Still, I had a great time being silly on Christmas Day, and hearing my mom laugh without a care in the world as these characters run around like lunatics was pure joy. And sometimes, truthfully, that's all a movie needs to be.
