Ah, the glamour of business travel. Got done with my flight and to the rental car center. The message board listed the parking spot for my car, but there was no car there. They told me to go wait in a 40-person line to get help. Got an Uber instead. Bleh. - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/09/20/more-than-of-rain-overnight/

More than 5” of rain overnight, almost 11” in September already. Sump pump is running every 2-3 minutes, which is a lot for us. Thankfully, I managed to sleep through all of it. - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/09/18/its-an-odd-sort-of/

It’s an odd sort of thing to brag about, but it is pretty cool to have a friend who is literally the Pope’s editor. Matt is one of the good ones. - Dan Foster on Christian Universalism
Sep 18, 2026 · original
I really appreciate this post from Dan Foster about Christian Universalism: What if Everyone Goes to Heaven - and the Bible Backs That Up? . He summarizes the basic scriptural arguments for Christian Universalism in an easy way with some illustrations to make it easier to digest. After he gets through those arguments he addresses one last frequent objection: without the threat of hell, why would anyone choose to be good? I used to think this was the question universalists couldn’t answer. If everyone ends up in heaven, what’s stopping us from doing whatever we like? Surely you need the possibility of punishment to keep people in line. But if I found out tomorrow that nobody was going to hell, would I suddenly stop caring about my children? Would I feel free to betray my wife? I can’t imagine looking at the people I love and thinking, “Excellent. I can hurt you now.” I think he s right on - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/09/17/reads-the-fingerprints-of-god/

Apple event: new iPhone camera seems nice, but I miss last year s orange color. New Apple Watch Ultra is tempting but I don t need to spend the $$$. iPhone Duo seems impressive but $2k starting price? LOLOL. - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/09/07/watched-the-christophers-this-is/

Watched: The Christophers 🍿 This is an under-the-radar but really good film. Ian McKellen should be sneaking into the Oscar discussion for this one. - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/09/07/reads-murriyang-by-stan-grant/

Went for a run at 6 AM and it was already 78F outside with 80% humidity. On top of doing leg day at the gym yesterday afternoon… kinda feeling it right now. Oof. - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/09/03/going-back-to-listen-to/

Going back to listen to an old favorite while working this morning: Sufjan Stevens sound track for The BQE . Most Sufjan fans I know favor his vocal stuff, but I m the biggest fan of his instrumental compositions. - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/08/31/as-a-cubs-fan-i/

As a #Cubs fan I both enjoy seeing them whoop up on the Brewers and also have this nagging feeling we’re gonna be wishing we could’ve banked some of those runs for later in the series. #MLB - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/08/31/good-golly-the-brewers-have/

Good golly, the Brewers have a position player in to pitch in the 7th. #Cubs look like they’re just taking batting practice. Not gonna feel bad about running up the score a bit on the division leaders. #MLB - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/08/30/green-chucks-to-go-with/

Green Chucks to go with my acolyte robe this morning. It’s Ordinary Time, after all. Very tempted to find them in all the various liturgical colors. ⚓️ - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/08/29/with-my-mile-run-this/

With my 6.6 mile run this afternoon I am up to 74 miles for the month and just broke 500 miles for the year. The most I have run any year in my life, and there are still 4 months to go! - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/08/27/reminder-to-myself-that-when/

Reminder to myself that when I m cranking up my keto diet again, my body isn t as fueled as I d expect when I go run. This PSA brought to me by a 4-mile lunchtime run that was way harder than I anticipated. - https://chrishubbs.com/2026/08/27/i-just-about-choked-on/
