This has been one of my busiest monsoons in recent memory and a particularly good one. For the past three years, as soon as the monsoons commenced, my sleep cycle would go for a toss and it break my momentum. Not this time 💪🏼 With my sleep cycle intact, after WWDC 26, I had a massive task ahead of me: Update three of my apps for iOS and macOS 27, plus other consulting and contractual work I had lined up. In the interim, my friend Krishna got in touch with me for designing the App Icon for his app Akshar, I wrote about that journey here . Although work started on the app updates in June, July is when things started to click! I headed over to the Apple Developer Center in Bengaluru, where I met the amazing Developer Relations Team, who guided me and helped me untangle my thoughts. Akshar ‒ An AppIcon Inspired by the Mac

In August, Krishna of the Akshar fame started discussing his app’s appicon with me, and how he wanted to make it stand out like Elytra’s . While I told him how I approached it, he immediately admitted not being able to follow along as a developer. This made me realise how much of an underutilised advantage I have as a designer & engineer to shape experiences for my users being, able to both design and craft the interfaces for them by developing an understanding for both sides of the coin. We agreed to redesign Akshar’s appicon for the Liquid Glass design era. While he had reference artwork for me as a starting point, the artwork had whacked out perspectives, colours, and complete lack of inspiration, or as someone I met recently met put it, “lacks of signs of evolution”. BLR Terminal Conundrum

I’m stuck with a rather tricky situation when picking which terminal to land at and depart from when travling to Bengaluru. My options are: Terminal 1 Indigo is the only viable carrier: terrible seats, decent food (which I rarely need on a short flight of 70 minutes), but good staff. This terminal’s 080 Lounge is staffed better, has a better seating arrangement, good food and beverages, and easy to access. All shops on end, gates on the other, zero confusion. Terminal 2 Air India Express is the only viable carrier: better seats than the former, worst food (IDK why they won’t let you choose this when booking or checking in), equally good staff. The 080 Lounge is one of the worst I’ve been to in terms of staff (rude, arrogant), food was way below average, hard to access or figure out location. The gates and shops are all over the place. D7 and D8 gates require you to take an escalator one

The second quarter of 2026 was expectedly busy, for several reasons. In May, I was invited by the Apple Developer Center, Bengaluru , amongst other participating indie developers, to speak about my app Pockity with the Press. This was massive moment for me, for the app, and I got to express myself, like never before, to the world through their writing. One of the highlights for me was meeting and interacting with: Mathures Paul who wrote the amazing article, Ahead of Apple WWDC 2026, Indian app developers share how they built successful apps on T2 Abhishek Scariya who took phenomenal photos of us for the articles, and this one is my personal favourite: I also got some amazing photos from the airport during my return journey. That trip to the ADC, traveling with my M1 MacBook Pro 14” made me realise I needed an upgrade, so in May, I finally got the M5 Max MacBook Pro 16”. I wrote about it

During my Bengaluru trip last month, I came across a significant disadvantaged with my then Macbook setup. It's a 14" M1-Pro top of the line with 32GB of RAM. For my day-to-day work, it did a fine job, no complaints. Until I realised, that was only the case when it was plugged into the Studio Display at my home desk. The moment it was off the power cable (thunderbolt in my case), it would immediately show its age and current capacity to do things. Frustrated by this, and not willing to wait any longer for Apple to ship a M5 Max capable Mac Studio, I decided to pull the plug and get myself a M5 Max MacBook. Now I wasn't going to make the same mistake as a few people did ordering a M5 Max in a 14" chassis, and simultaneously, I wasn't sure I wanted a 16" MacBook as my daily driver. We've all been there, we're preparing the generate "views" for our app's reviews from App Store Connect, and we may naively copy the contents from the reviews tab of our app, decorate them with the right amount of stars, perhaps even use the same font from the app if it's unique, to keep the brand on-point. This sometimes, and as per my observations quite often, lead to the question of legitimacy of these review posts! So the best way to capture them directly from App Store Connect using Safari (or whichever browser you prefer whose Developer Tools support screenshotting DOM elements). I was in in the radiant city of Bengaluru for some work this week. I met some "online" friends for the first time in person, and some old friends once again! And we got to share one of the best Apple Pies I've had in the eastern hemisphere thus far! Finally, yesterday on my way back, I managed to capture two stunning shots of the sunset from the T1 Terminal of the city's airport.

I said I would journal quarterly in my March post, but I can no longer contain my excitement for writing here. This April has been perhaps one of my busiest in recent memory. A new financial year beginning, a new quarter, and to add to this work, I accepted new contract work, as well as was invited to be a guest facilitator for Apple's Super Charge 2026 event at MIT World Peace University in Pune. Through this event, I got the opportunity to introduce Swift Pune to the faculty at MIT-WPU, and they are excited to have us visit their campus and interact with the students there at their iOS Development Center on a regular basis. This is a new avenue for every one of us at Swift Pune, and we are very excited for this. Back to journaling on my blog, but this time doing it quarterly, i.e. a total of four posts for the year, looking back at each quarter. If you see my previous posts, they were all weekly, and I helped me write better, and most importantly, reflect better and be more grateful for the day! Professional Life I have failed, really bad, to find a new job, and that's still the situation at the time of writing this 😄 I don't blame the rise of LLM Models (AKA "AI"), but the people who are severely overestimating its usefulness in their present form.
